A Day in Shinjuku, Tokyo's Tech and Shopping Hub
 

After indulging in a delightful sushi feast at Kurasushi, we decided to head to Shinjuku, a bustling district in Tokyo known for its impressive array of gadget shops. Tokyo, a city that seamlessly blends tradition with cutting-edge technology, is renowned for its high-quality gadgets. What's even more appealing is that these tech treasures often come with a price tag that's significantly cheaper than what we'd find back home in the Philippines.


Shinjuku isn't just a tech paradise; it's also the commuting capital of Tokyo, boasting the busiest train station in the world. Amid the hustle and bustle, you'll find some of Tokyo's tallest buildings reaching for the sky, a testament to the city's architectural prowess. But Shinjuku isn't all work and no play. The district is also home to a plethora of shopping malls, bars, and clubs, offering endless entertainment options for locals and tourists alike.
Our primary destination in Shinjuku was BIC Camera, a popular electronics and gadget store. Known for its extensive selection of the latest phones and accessories, BIC Camera is a tech enthusiast's dream come true. As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted by a dizzying array of gadgets. It was almost overwhelming, with so many items vying for attention that it was hard to focus on just one.
 
From the latest smartphones boasting cutting-edge features to the newest PlayStation consoles for the gaming aficionados, BIC Camera had it all. If I had the funds, I would have surely walked out of there with a brand new phone and PlayStation in tow. But for now, window shopping amidst the sea of tech innovations was an experience in itself.

 
Our day in Shinjuku was a testament to Tokyo's status as a global tech and shopping hub. Whether you're a gadget geek, a shopping enthusiast, or simply a curious traveler, Shinjuku has something to offer. And who knows? You might just find that perfect gadget you've been dreaming of, at a price that won't break the bank.

Tokyo Disneyland: A Delicious Detour to Eastside Cafe – March 10, 2025   Post-parade, our stomachs were rumbling louder than any rollercoaster. We were starving! The problem? Disneyland was packed, and every restaurant had a wait time that rivaled the lines for Space Mountain. But our resourceful Ate and Kuya remembered a hidden gem near the entrance: Eastside Cafe.   This table-service restaurant, tucked away in World Bazaar, promised a welcome respite from the park's frenetic energy. Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold! The Adventureland location was a bonus – a little escape from the main hustle. The waiting area was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seats.
