I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 5 - Go Sushi Restaurant - 03/13/2025
With our new eyeglasses safely secured, a serious case of hunger hit us. And what better way to satisfy those rumbling stomachs than with a conveyor belt sushi experience? We were perfectly positioned in Shinjuku, an area brimming with culinary delights. After a bit of searching, we stumbled upon a fantastic sushi go-round restaurant right in the heart of Shibuya.
This was my first time experiencing a truly authentic conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! While a bit pricier than some of the more popular chains like Kura, it was still incredibly affordable, and the quality of the sushi was outstanding. The freshness was undeniable, and the taste was exquisite.
What really set this place apart was the open kitchen concept. The chefs were right there, preparing each plate with precision and care, their movements a mesmerizing dance of culinary expertise. We sat around the conveyor belt, with the chefs in the center, expertly crafting each piece of sushi and announcing its arrival on the belt. It was a fascinating and engaging experience.
The sushi itself was incredible. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the tuna was rich and flavorful, and the belly tuna was a revelation. The botan prawn was succulent, the scallops were perfectly seared, and the tamagoyaki (sweet egg omelet) was the largest I'd ever seen! Most plates were priced at ¥130 – an absolute steal for the quality.
The restaurant itself was quaint, with limited seating, but the turnover was surprisingly fast. The pricing system was simple: different colored plates corresponded to different price points. You simply take the plates you want, and settle the bill at the end. It was a fun, efficient, and delicious system.
Despite the limited space, the atmosphere was lively and energetic. The constant flow of sushi, the skillful chefs, and the delicious food created a vibrant and exciting dining experience. It was the perfect way to end our day of exploring Tokyo.
I would absolutely recommend this sushi go-round restaurant to anyone visiting Tokyo. It's a fantastic way to experience authentic Japanese sushi in a fun and engaging setting. The quality, freshness, and price point make it a culinary must-try!
