Tokyo 2025 - Day 7: Shibuya Part 3 - A whirlwind of Shoes, Streets, and Sweet Potatoes!
 
Meiji Jingu Shrine completely captivated us; three hours flew by! That left us seriously short on time for our original mission: shoe shopping. So, after a fulfilling shrine visit, we set our sights on the nearest Onitsuka Tiger store – which, as it turned out, was in Shinjuku.
 
The walk to Shinjuku was a feast for the eyes. Luxury brand stores lined the streets, a dazzling display of high-end fashion. If you've got the cash to burn, Shinjuku is the place to be! The Onitsuka Tiger store itself was buzzing; people were practically scrambling for shoes! I opted to hang back while Badets navigated the shoe frenzy. Our rendezvous point with Kuya and Ate was Shibuya, so we decided to walk from Shinjuku.
 
The kilometer-long walk turned into an unexpected adventure. We found a quieter street, and suddenly, we were surrounded by upscale shops and opulent boutiques. It felt like we'd stumbled into an exclusive neighborhood; everything screamed luxury! I loved taking my time, soaking in the atmosphere and admiring the various installations along the way.
 
The chilly evening air had us craving something warm, and the familiar aroma of baked sweet potatoes led us to a perfect treat. Sharing that warm, comforting potato was the ideal pick-me-up against the dropping temperatures. It was almost 6 PM, and the air had definitely turned cooler.
 
Refueled, we continued our stroll, popping into a few more shops and indulging in some delicious takoyaki. By 7 PM, we finally reunited with Kuya and Ate in Shibuya, and the shoe hunt was back on! This time, Shibuya's shops offered a wider selection.
 
The day ended with a well-deserved ramen dinner, followed by a relaxing return to our Airbnb. Day 7 was a whirlwind of unexpected detours, luxurious streets, comforting treats, and finally, successful shoe shopping! It was a perfect blend of planned activities and spontaneous adventures, a true reflection of the unpredictable joy of exploring Tokyo.

Tokyo Disneyland: A Delicious Detour to Eastside Cafe – March 10, 2025   Post-parade, our stomachs were rumbling louder than any rollercoaster. We were starving! The problem? Disneyland was packed, and every restaurant had a wait time that rivaled the lines for Space Mountain. But our resourceful Ate and Kuya remembered a hidden gem near the entrance: Eastside Cafe.   This table-service restaurant, tucked away in World Bazaar, promised a welcome respite from the park's frenetic energy. Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold! The Adventureland location was a bonus – a little escape from the main hustle. The waiting area was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seats. They even offered translation devices for non-English speakers – seriously impressed!   Stepping into the Tiki Room felt like entering a mini-theater.
