Day 5 - Hanoi: A Mix of Culture and Comfort
Today was supposed to be a chill day, a much-needed break from all the walking tours we've had. But the Hanoi weather was just too good to pass up, so we decided to squeeze in one more tourist spot! At 9 AM, I woke up to the delicious aroma of banh mi and pho for breakfast. After savoring every bite and resting a while, I freshened up around noon, ready for whatever the day held. By 1 PM, we had booked a Grab and were off to the Temple of Literature. This ancient temple, dedicated to Confucius, is Vietnam's first national university. Walking through its serene courtyards and admiring the intricate architecture was a beautiful experience, a peaceful step back in time. After soaking in all that history, our stomachs started rumbling. All those days of pho and banh mi had me craving something different – fried chicken! And where else to find the best fried chicken in town but Jollibee Hanoi? So, at 2 PM, we embarked on a 10-minute walk to Hanoi Center. At 2:30 PM, we finally reached our fried chicken haven. We ordered two pieces of Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti. The Chickenjoy was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside – pure bliss! The Jolly Spaghetti, with its sweet and savory sauce, was a delightful taste of home. Sorry, Hanoi, but Jollibee definitely takes the crown for the best fried chicken here! With happy tummies, we booked another Grab at 4 PM and headed to Hang Da Market. It was fun exploring the shopping area and hunting for some good finds. Finally, at 6 PM, we were back at the hotel, ready to rest and recharge for our departure tomorrow. What a great way to end our Hanoi adventure!
