I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 2 - Disneyland - Critter Country - 03/10/2025

Tokyo Disneyland: Critter Country Adventure – March 10, 2025   Okay, so Day Two in Tokyo Disneyland started with a splash – literally! We hopped on that riverboat, and let me tell you, the first thing on our minds after a long morning of exploring was… the restroom! We needed a quick pit stop before diving headfirst into the next adventure: Critter Country. And wow, what an adventure it turned out to be.   Imagine this: You’re stepping into a whimsical world that’s kind of a bizarre mix of Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood and… a Wild West saloon? That’s Critter Country in a nutshell. It’s charmingly chaotic, a delightful blend of rustic charm and cartoon cuteness. It's not your typical Disney experience, and that's what makes it so unique.   The first thing that hit us was the atmosphere. There's this cozy, slightly off-kilter vibe. The log cabins, the rustic bridges, the gentle sounds of the river – it all creates a really relaxing atmosphere. You can almost sme...

I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 2 - Disney - Mark Twain Riverboat - 03/10/2025

Tokyo Disneyland 2025: Day 2 - A Relaxing Cruise on the Mark Twain Riverboat   Okay, so after battling Stitch (and his surprisingly catchy tunes in the Tiki Room!), we were ready for something a little more… chill. Initially, we were aiming for a rollercoaster adrenaline rush, but let's be honest, those lines are insane at Disneyland, even in 2025! The app showed a 20-minute wait for the Mark Twain Riverboat, and honestly, that sounded like a much better way to spend our time. Plus, a riverboat sounded kinda interesting, right?   Turns out, it was way more interesting than we expected. We all piled on together, and once the majestic Mark Twain Riverboat pulled away from the platform, we hightailed it to the third level. The view from up there? Absolutely stunning! We got a completely different perspective of Disneyland, seeing all the lands from the man-made river. It's like seeing the park through a whole new lens.   The ride its...

Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold! The Adventureland location was a bonus – a little escape from the main hustle. The waiting area was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seats. They even offered translation devices for non-English speakers – seriously impressed!   Stepping into the Tiki Room felt like entering a mini-theater. No photos or videos allowed (bummer, but understandable), so we just soaked it all in. The show itself? A whole lot of colorful robotic birds singing and doing their thing. Honestly, I kinda dozed off a bit. It...

Tokyo 2025 – Day 2 – Entering the Magic: Tokyo Disneyland! - March 10th, 2025 Stepping off the train platform felt like stepping into a vibrant, bustling river of people. Locals and tourists alike flowed around us, all buzzing with excitement, a palpable energy that only a place like Tokyo can generate. This time, our journey to Tokyo Disneyland was a short stroll – a far cry from our Disney train adventure on our first visit! I barely noticed the distance; the walk was a feast for the eyes, a delightful parade of Disney decorations and displays. A massive souvenir shop practically begged us to stop – strategically placed right at the park entrance, it was impossible to miss! Of course, we had to snag some photos at the iconic Tokyo Disneyland Welcome Arc – it’s a must-do for any first-timer (and even seasoned Disney fans!). But with even more Instagram-worthy spots waiting inside, we eventually tore ourselves away and headed for the entrance.   We'd pre-booked our tickets thr...

Tokyo 2025 – Day 2: Disneyland Dreams! (03/10/2025)   Six AM! My alarm screamed, and honestly, I wasn't even mad. Today was Tokyo Disneyland day – the big one! Fuelled by instant noodles (hey, it’s a travel hack!), a ridiculously delicious melon bread, and strong coffee, I was ready to conquer the Magic Kingdom. This was my fourth Disney park – Hong Kong Disneyland (twice!) and Tokyo DisneySea under my belt – but this was different. This was the family's first trip to Japan, and Tokyo Disneyland felt like the perfect, magical way to kick it all off.   Yesterday’s slightly chaotic "Lost in Translation" adventure to find our Airbnb had taught us a valuable lesson: patience. So, no rushing this morning! We took our time getting ready, and I even donned my lucky Disney Goofy shirt and Mickey Mouse hat – full-on Disney cosplay, baby! We were picture-ready by 10 AM, snapping a million photos before heading out. Seriously, the pre-Disney photo shoot was almost as fun ...

Tokyo 2025 Travel Blog: Day 1 – March 9, 2025 “Lost in Translation (But Found in Noodles)”   Our Tokyo saga began with a lesson in Lost in Translation: never doubt Japan’s love for precision. At 9:15 PM sharp, we huddled on Platform #6 at Narita Airport, tickets clutched tightly for the Keisei Skyliner Express to Ueno Station. For the uninitiated, the Keisei Skyliner is Tokyo’s airport bullet train—a silent, spaceship-like ride that covers 53 km in one hour. Reserved seats? Check. A cabin so quiet you could hear your own jet-lagged heartbeat? Double-check. The only soundtrack was the hypnotic whoosh of the train and the crinkle of someone sneaking a snack. The Japanese commuters? Zen masters of silence. No loud convos, no TikTok scrolls. Just serene nods to the neon blur outside.   By 10:15 PM, we spilled into Ueno Station, ready to tackle our first Tokyo trial: the Suica Card. Suica is Tokyo’s magic wand—a tiny plastic card that unlocks trains, vending...

Tokyo 2025: Day 1 - March 9th, 2025   6 PM: Touchdown in Tokyo! The temperature dropped the second we stepped off the plane – a definite winter chill! We instantly bundled up in our winter jackets. First mission: find anything that screams "JAPAN!" and take a million pictures. Narita Airport delivered with a fantastic Pokémon mural – perfectly capturing the vibe. I hate to compare, but seriously, the difference between Narita and, say, NAIA3… I could write a whole book on it, but you get the picture. 😉   Immigration was a whirlwind of locals and tourists. A half-hour wait in a snaking queue later, we finally got our stamps. And that's when it hit us: "Konnichiwa Tokyo, Japan!" We were starving! Dinner hunt activated! Spotted the Ninja Wifi kiosk – picked up my portable wifi (Klook reservation, sorted!). Then, up to the 4th level of Narita's terminal – restaurant heaven! No time for exploring; we were famished. Ended up...

Tokyo 2025: Day 1 - A Smooth Flight and a Mountainous First Impression   March 9th, 2025. 12:30 PM: Boarding the Cebu Pacific flight to Narita Airport felt like the start of a grand adventure. The anticipation was buzzing! 1:00 PM: We were airborne, soaring above the clouds. I spent the ascent snapping photos – the Manila skyline from above was breathtaking. My usual middle seat in the Airbus 360 wasn't ideal, but the view made up for it.   Merienda time hit, and I grabbed a bowl of instant noodles (100 pesos – not bad!). Then, the unexpected happened: Cebu Pacific's in-flight games! The question? "What is the capital of Japan, a global megacity, a vibrant blend of ancient traditions and modern innovation?" My hand shot up faster than you can say "Tokyo"! And guess what? I won! My prize? A cute Cebu Pacific mini pouch – perfect for keeping my Philippine Pesos safe and sound.   After my mini-celebration, I drift...

Tokyo Family Adventure: Day 1 - March 9, 2025   So, Tokyo again! This is my second time in this amazing city, but this trip is extra special. It's the first time in ages – probably the second time ever – that my whole family's been on the same continent! We're making the most of it, believe me. This is a trip we've been planning for ages, and the anticipation has been building for months. The countdown is finally over, and the adventure is officially underway!   Our journey began bright and early. The alarm clock screamed at 7:00 AM, a sound I usually resent, but today, it was the soundtrack to excitement. We piled into a Grab car – a familiar sight here in the Philippines – for the ride from Cavite to NAIA Terminal 3. The 600-peso fare was a small price to pay for the convenience, especially with all our luggage. The traffic was surprisingly light, and we arrived at the airport by 8:00 AM.   The airport buzzed with activity, a symphony of hurried footsteps, roll...

I ❤️ Dumaguete 2025 - Day 2- Pulangbato Falls - 02/10/2025

Image
From Sulfur to Serenity: A Dip in Pulangbato Falls, Dumaguete   Okay, so after our slightly… pungent encounter with the Dumaguete sulfur vents, we were ready for something a little more refreshing. And boy, did we find it! Our next stop was Pulangbato Falls, located just a short hop from the vents – seriously, like a five-minute drive down a small, scenic road.   The entrance fee was a reasonable 50 pesos, and the resort itself is your typical charming provincial spot. Nothing fancy, but it has a certain rustic appeal. What makes Pulangbato Falls truly special, though, is the fact that it actually features two distinct waterfalls.   One waterfall boasts this amazing, almost striking reddish-brown color to the rocks – a testament to the high sulfur content in the water. It's a really unique sight! The other waterfall, on the other hand, is a pristine, freshwater fall. The contrast between the two is pretty incredible.   The water in both...

Dumaguete Day 3: City Tour and Farewell 😭   Day 3 in Dumaguete began with a fantastic American breakfast at Leanas Restaurant – two sunny-side-up eggs were the perfect start to the day! 🍳 Then it was time to check out of Charo's Dormitel. Super convenient, they let us leave our luggage at the reception while we explored the city. 🙌   Our city tour kicked off around 1 pm. Our first stop was the impressive Dumaguete Church – a beautiful piece of architecture! ⛪ Then, we headed to the main branch of Silvanas Dumaguete for those famous pastries! They were amazing. 🤤 Lunch was a bit of an adventure. We tried Pizza Hut and Max's, but neither quite hit the spot. Finally, we landed at Mang Inasal in Robinson's Dumaguete – always a safe bet! We spent a little time strolling around the mall afterward.   By 3 pm, it was back to the hotel to collect our bags and head to Dumaguete Airport. There was a bit of a wait before our flight, but...

I ❤️ Dumaguete 2025 - Day 2 - Redrock Hot springs - 02/10/2025

From Cool Falls to Warm Embrace: Relaxing at Dumaguete's Red Rock Hot Spring   Okay, so after our refreshing dip in Pulangbato Falls, we were starting to feel those hunger pangs. Lunch was definitely on the agenda, but our tour guide had a brilliant suggestion: a quick detour to the Red Rock Hot Spring.   Now, at first, our group was a little hesitant. We'd just come from another water-related activity, and the thought of more water wasn't exactly thrilling. But the Red Rock Hot Spring is only a five-minute drive from Pulangbato, and it's right along the highway, so it was super convenient. We decided to check it out, at least for a quick look.   We asked the staff if we could take a peek at the area before committing, and as soon as I dipped my hand into the pool, I knew we had to stay. The water felt amazing! I immediately told my travel buddies, "We're doing this!" The entrance fee was just 50 pesos, and after snapping som...

Fairy Tale Forest: A Relaxing End to Our Dumaguete Adventure   Okay, so after that incredible lunch at Ati Gigi's (you have to read about that!), we were feeling refreshed and ready for our next adventure: Forest Camp. Let me tell you, this place is HUGE. I'm talking seven pools, lush greenery everywhere, and an atmosphere that felt straight out of a fairy tale.   Seriously, the whole place is incredibly aesthetically pleasing. Think cascading pools, thick, vibrant greenery, and this magical, almost enchanted feeling. It's like stepping into a different world. The pools themselves are wonderfully cool – a perfect way to cool down after all our previous adventures.   We could have easily spent the entire day there, but we were starting to feel a little tired from all the activities we'd packed into our Dumaguete trip. Forest Camp has so many pools and swimming areas that choosing where to go was a bit of a challenge! But we eventually found...

I ❤️ Dumaguete 2025 - Day 2 - Ate Gigi's House - 02/10/2025

A Warm Welcome and a Delicious Feast: Lunch at Ati Gigi's   Okay, so after all our adventures – the sulfur vents, the waterfalls, the hot springs – we were seriously starving! Lunch was definitely in order, and luckily, Jit Jit (a friend traveling with us) had a family connection in Dumaguete who was more than happy to host us.   We met Ati Gigi in Valencia, a relative of Jit Jit's, and she welcomed us into her absolutely stunning home. I was blown away by how beautiful the community was – her house is located within a very exclusive resort, and the house itself is huge and modern – seriously impressive!   Ati Gigi had prepared the most incredible lunch spread. I mean, seriously, there was so much food! The photos don't even do it justice – we had fish, chicken, a fresh salad, and even wine! But the real star of the show was the lato, a seaweed salad. Now, I've always been a bit hesitant about seaweed – I find it can sometimes be a bit too…...
