I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 1 - Narita Airport - 03/09/2025


Tokyo 2025: Day 1 - March 9th, 2025
 
6 PM: Touchdown in Tokyo! The temperature dropped the second we stepped off the plane – a definite winter chill! We instantly bundled up in our winter jackets. First mission: find anything that screams "JAPAN!" and take a million pictures. Narita Airport delivered with a fantastic Pokémon mural – perfectly capturing the vibe. I hate to compare, but seriously, the difference between Narita and, say, NAIA3… I could write a whole book on it, but you get the picture. 😉
 
Immigration was a whirlwind of locals and tourists. A half-hour wait in a snaking queue later, we finally got our stamps. And that's when it hit us: "Konnichiwa Tokyo, Japan!" We were starving! Dinner hunt activated! Spotted the Ninja Wifi kiosk – picked up my portable wifi (Klook reservation, sorted!). Then, up to the 4th level of Narita's terminal – restaurant heaven! No time for exploring; we were famished. Ended up at the same canteen I ate at during my last Narita visit. Legit Japanese food – combo meals all around. So satisfying! It was a really special moment, the whole family eating together in a foreign country. Pure nostalgia.
 
Disaster struck! My wifi password wasn't working. Back to the Ninja Wifi kiosk I went. Phew, fixed! Rejoined the group and headed to the Kensei Information Center to get our Kensei Express tickets to Ueno Station. Super smooth transaction – 9:15 PM train, here we come!
 
Navigating Narita was a learning curve – lots of questions to make sure we were on the right platform/queue. Finally boarded the train from Platform #6 and settled into our reserved seats. Stay tuned for more adventures!

Tokyo Disneyland: A Delicious Detour to Eastside Cafe – March 10, 2025   Post-parade, our stomachs were rumbling louder than any rollercoaster. We were starving! The problem? Disneyland was packed, and every restaurant had a wait time that rivaled the lines for Space Mountain. But our resourceful Ate and Kuya remembered a hidden gem near the entrance: Eastside Cafe.   This table-service restaurant, tucked away in World Bazaar, promised a welcome respite from the park's frenetic energy. World Bazaar, with its early 20th-century Victorian theming, is already a feast for the eyes, and Eastside Cafe perfectly complements the atmosphere. Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold! The Adventureland location was a bonus – a little escape from the main hustle. The waiting area was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seats. They even offered translation devices for non-English speakers – seriously impressed!   Stepping into the Tiki Room felt like entering a mini-theater. No photos or videos allowed (bummer, but understandable), so we just soaked it all in. The show itself? A whole lot of colorful robotic birds singing and doing their thing.
