I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 2 - Disneyland Fireworks - 03/10/2025
After a thrilling ride on Space Mountain, our next mission: securing the perfect viewing spot for the Disneyland fireworks display. We knew this was the highlight of many visitors' trips – a spectacular combination of lights, sounds, and classic Disney tunes, held every night, with special weekend shows requiring reserved seating (which, sadly, we hadn't managed to snag).
Our strategy? Claiming a spot in front of Cinderella Castle. This meant joining a throng of other tourists with the same brilliant idea. Kuya and Mom bravely held our place while Ate and the kids embarked on a quest for the elusive curry popcorn – a flavor our taste buds were desperately craving. The popcorn was only available in Adventureland, a good 100 meters away from Cinderella Castle. Let me tell you, that was a long walk, but totally worth it.
Armed with popcorn, drinks, and a renewed sense of purpose, we returned to our hard-won spot. Five minutes before showtime, the crowd, which had been mostly seated, stood en masse, anticipating the spectacle. While standing for the duration wasn't ideal (it was a bit uncomfortable), it was still preferable to being completely blocked by others.
The fireworks themselves were… interesting. I wouldn't say they were as magical as the ones I'd seen at Hong Kong Disneyland. Hong Kong's display was truly breathtaking, an extravagant symphony of light and pyrotechnics. Tokyo's show felt more… straightforward, a lovely display, but not as extravagant. It was beautiful, don't get me wrong, but it lacked that extra "wow" factor. Perhaps it was the music selection, or maybe just my own personal expectations, but it didn't quite reach the same level of enchantment.
Regardless, the experience was still special. It was a beautiful end to a day filled with magic and adventure. After the fireworks concluded, we made our way towards the exit, stopping first for a much-needed restroom break.
Our journey back to Maihama Station included a pit stop at the souvenir shop, where we browsed through magnets, keychains, and other mementos of our trip. Then, finally, it was back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
And that, my friends, was the end of our second day at Tokyo Disneyland – a whirlwind of rides, delicious food, and unforgettable moments, even if the fireworks lacked a bit of that extra sparkle.
