I ❤️ Tokyo 2025 - Day 2 - Disneyland - Eastside Cafe - 03/10/2025
Post-parade, our stomachs were rumbling louder than any rollercoaster. We were starving! The problem? Disneyland was packed, and every restaurant had a wait time that rivaled the lines for Space Mountain. But our resourceful Ate and Kuya remembered a hidden gem near the entrance: Eastside Cafe.
This table-service restaurant, tucked away in World Bazaar, promised a welcome respite from the park's frenetic energy. World Bazaar, with its early 20th-century Victorian theming, is already a feast for the eyes, and Eastside Cafe perfectly complements the atmosphere. It's like stepping into a charming Italian trattoria, complete with rich wood paneling, antique-style furnishings, and gorgeous murals depicting Italian landscapes. Even the frosted glass partitions added to the cozy, intimate feel.
Despite the crowds, the line at Eastside Cafe was surprisingly manageable. We signed up for a reservation and were seated within five minutes – a huge relief compared to the potentially hour-long waits at other restaurants. Our large group easily accommodated two adjacent tables, giving us plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our meal.
The menu was a prix-fixe delight, offering a choice of starter (Roast Beef Salad or Mushroom and Soy Milk Soup), followed by a pasta entree (Carbonara, Genovese, Meatball Bolognese, or Vegetable Tomato). The price was pretty reasonable, ranging from 1,920 to 2,480 yen (roughly 700 to 1,000 pesos), depending on your choices. And, of course, we ordered a little bit of everything!
But it wasn't just the food that made the experience special. The servers, dressed in adorable Victorian-style uniforms, added another layer of charm. They were so delightful, in fact, that I couldn't resist asking for a quick photo – their outfits were seriously cute!
The service was impeccable – prompt, friendly, and attentive. The food itself was delicious, clearly freshly prepared, and the portions were generous. The ambience, with its clever use of booths and partitions, created a sense of intimacy and privacy, despite the restaurant's size. Even with my admittedly simple palate, I can honestly say the food was fantastic. I savored every bite, taking my time to truly appreciate the flavors and textures. It was a genuinely surreal experience, a moment of calm and deliciousness amidst the whirlwind of Disneyland.
And of course, a huge shout-out to Ate and Kuya for treating us to this amazing lunch. It was the perfect blend of delicious food, charming ambiance, and excellent service – a much-needed break from the park’s hustle and bustle and a truly memorable part of our Tokyo Disneyland adventure.
