Tokyo 2025 – Day 5 – Starbucks Reserve Roastery – 03/13/2025: A Coffee Lover's Dream

Okay, so you've probably seen the photos all over social media – the Tokyo Starbucks Reserve Roastery is not your average Starbucks. It's seriously unlike anything I've ever experienced, and they have seasonal items you can only get there. Seriously, it's a must-see!

First off, the location is amazing. It sits right along the Meguro River, and I can only imagine how stunning it must be during cherry blossom season (sakura!). We were a little early for the full bloom, but honestly, the building itself was so impressive, it didn't even matter.

Imagine a modern warehouse, but with a distinctly Japanese origami-inspired twist. The building is huge, with a massive roastery as its centerpiece, surrounded by these incredible chain link structures. It honestly looks like something straight out of a movie – all sleek lines and industrial chic. Seriously, my jaw dropped when I first saw it.

The scale of the place is mind-blowing. There are multiple floors, including a rooftop patio with an amazing view. They've also got some really cool displays perfect for photos – I spent a good chunk of time just snapping pictures of the architecture and the various coffee-related exhibits. Even the restrooms are fancy – located on the lower level, they're surprisingly spacious and well-appointed.

Seating options abound, but be warned: it gets busy! I highly recommend going early to snag a good spot. There are four levels, with the first and third floors housing the ordering counters for coffee and pastries. Even though the place is massive, it felt pretty crowded because everyone was there for the same reason: to experience this incredible space. We were lucky enough to find an empty spot outside on the veranda of the third floor – perfect for people-watching and soaking up the atmosphere.

I ordered my usual café latte, a tasty sandwich, and a decadent tiramisu. We spent almost two hours just chilling, enjoying the unique vibes, and browsing the souvenir selection. They had some really cool, unique merchandise.

All in all, I'm so glad we made the trip to the Tokyo Starbucks Reserve Roastery. The coffee was great, the food was delicious, but it was really the space and the overall vibe that made the experience so memorable. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a destination. If you're ever in Tokyo, you absolutely have to check it out!
