Tokyo 2025 – Day 2: Disneyland Dreams! (03/10/2025)

Six AM! My alarm screamed, and honestly, I wasn't even mad. Today was Tokyo Disneyland day – the big one! Fuelled by instant noodles (hey, it’s a travel hack!), a ridiculously delicious melon bread, and strong coffee, I was ready to conquer the Magic Kingdom. This was my fourth Disney park – Hong Kong Disneyland (twice!) and Tokyo DisneySea under my belt – but this was different. This was the family's first trip to Japan, and Tokyo Disneyland felt like the perfect, magical way to kick it all off.

Yesterday’s slightly chaotic "Lost in Translation" adventure to find our Airbnb had taught us a valuable lesson: patience. So, no rushing this morning! We took our time getting ready, and I even donned my lucky Disney Goofy shirt and Mickey Mouse hat – full-on Disney cosplay, baby! We were picture-ready by 10 AM, snapping a million photos before heading out. Seriously, the pre-Disney photo shoot was almost as fun as the park itself!

Avoiding rush hour was a genius move. We hopped on the train at Senkawa and, while I don't have the exact train lines memorized (sorry, not a train schedule expert!), it was a pretty straightforward journey. Think a few JR lines and maybe a switch or two – nothing too complicated. The best part? The train was spacious. No elbow-to-elbow battles for space – just a smooth, relaxing ride. Seriously, it was a far cry from yesterday's frantic navigation. This time, the train ride was smooth and far exceeded our expectations. We just went with the flow, and it was so much less stressful.

Then, after about an hour, I saw it. The iconic, man-made volcano of Tokyo DisneySea, peeking through the train window. My heart did a little happy dance! It was surreal. I couldn't believe I was actually going to Disneyland with my whole family. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy – a feeling of immense gratitude that this trip was actually happening. Pinch me! This was a dream come true, and it felt even more special because we were sharing it together.

The rest of the day? Pure Disney magic! I’ll save the detailed park adventures for another post, but let me just say: rides, character meet-and-greets, delicious snacks (I may or may not have had a second melon bread…), and enough laughter to fill a whole kingdom. It was the perfect start to our Japanese adventure. What a blessing!
