Tokyo 2025 – Day 4 – Hakone Tour: Ahoy, Matey! (or, How I Conquered the Lake Ashi Pirate Ship) – March 12, 2025
 
Okay, so Hakone. Picture this: We're trekking, a merry band of tourists, towards Lake Ashi, all hyped for our pirate ship adventure. The walk from the Hakone Shrine? A pleasant fifteen-minute stroll, though I wouldn't call it a leisurely amble – the anticipation was palpable! And the queue? Yeah, let's just say it rivaled the line for the latest iPhone. But hey, worth it, right?
 

The "Pirate Ship" – I'm using air quotes because, let's be real, it's not exactly Blackbeard's vessel. No skull and crossbones, no swashbuckling crew. Instead, think plush seating, Renaissance-style murals on the ceiling, and even crystal chandeliers! Seriously, it was more luxurious than what I Imagine. There's even a coffee bar – perfect for those who prefer a warm beverage and a window seat to the dramatic scenery. The "pirate" theme is really just a fun gimmick.
 
The reality? It's a ferry, a really spacious, comfortable ferry with amazing views. Think of it as a sightseeing boat with a fun name. We cruised across Lake Ashi, enjoying the stunning scenery (well, as much as we could – Mt. Fuji was playing hide-and-seek behind the clouds that day, not showing any signs at all). The trip from Motohakomachi Port to Togendai Port took about 30 minutes, costing 1,200 yen one-way. Lucky for us, being on a package tour meant skipping the ticket line – VIP treatment, baby! That's the perk of booking a tour, definitely a time-saver.
 
My favorite part? Putting on my earbuds, blasting my favorite tunes on hñbvñ.    my Spotify, and just soaking in the breathtaking views. There's something so nostalgic about that feeling – wind in your hair (or face, depending on how windy it was!), music in your ears, and the majestic landscape unfolding before you. Pure bliss.
 
  rain started to drizzle as our 30-minute voyage ended, and Mt. Fuji remained elusive, but honestly? It was still totally worth it. The Lake Ashi Pirate Ship experience is a definite must-do on any Hakone itinerary. Highly recommended!

Tokyo Disneyland: A Delicious Detour to Eastside Cafe – March 10, 2025   Post-parade, our stomachs were rumbling louder than any rollercoaster. We were starving! The problem? Disneyland was packed, and every restaurant had a wait time that rivaled the lines for Space Mountain. Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold!
