Day 3 - Da Nang Travel Diary: Egg Coffee and Dry Noodle Discoveries

Day three in Da Nang was a whirlwind of sights, sounds, and, most importantly, flavors! After a magical Han River Cruise, we were ready to dive into the local culinary scene. That's when we stumbled upon a late-night adventure filled with egg coffee and dry noodles.



First things first: we headed to a local Vietnamese cafe in search of the legendary egg coffee. Now, for those of you who haven't heard of it, egg coffee (or cà phê trứng) is a Vietnamese specialty that sounds a bit strange but tastes absolutely divine. It's made with whipped egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk, and robust Vietnamese coffee. The result is a rich, creamy, and almost dessert-like drink with a frothy topping that's both sweet and intensely caffeinated. Trust me, it's a must-try when you're in Vietnam!



While we were sipping on our egg coffees, my friend Gracia stumbled upon a small, unassuming kiosk selling mì Quảng – a type of Vietnamese dry noodle dish. Intrigued, she ordered a bowl, and after one taste, I was hooked! The noodles were perfectly chewy, tossed in a savory, slightly sweet sauce, and topped with fresh herbs, peanuts, and crispy shallots. It was an explosion of flavors and textures that I couldn't resist. I immediately ordered my own bowl and savored every bite. This was our dinner after all!



We were so lucky that the owner of the coffee shop was kind enough to let us enjoy our dry noodles at their tables. It was the perfect spot to relax, chat, and soak in the atmosphere of the city as the day wound down.
Bellies full and hearts happy, we started the walk back to our hotel around 11 pm. As we walked, we couldn't help but reminisce about all the amazing things we'd experienced that day. The Han River Cruise was definitely a highlight, with its stunning views of the city lights reflecting on the water.



Back at the hotel, we took some time to unwind and refresh before finally drifting off to sleep, already dreaming of what adventures day four would bring.

Tiki Room Adventure: A Surprisingly Fun Disney Break!   Okay, so picture this: we're buzzing from all the Disney magic, ready to tackle some rides. But hold up! The app shows hour-long waits for everything popular. We're not about that life. We need a strategic break, a Disney pit stop if you will.   That's where the Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents "Aloha E KOMO Mai!" swooped in to save the day. Only a 15-minute wait? Sold! The Adventureland location was a bonus – a little escape from the main hustle. The waiting area was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seats.
