Day 6 - Da Nang Travel Diary - Hoi An

🌴🛶 Hoi An Hidden Gem: Getting Dizzy in the Coconut Village! 🤪🇻🇳
Hey Insta-fam! 👋 Today was one of those travel days that just STICKS with you. We escaped the bustle of Da Nang and headed to Hoi An, where we discovered the magical Coconut Village. And let me tell you, it was an absolute whirlwind of culture, laughter, and seriously dizzying fun! 😵‍💫

First things first: BOOK. THROUGH. KLOOK! Seriously, this app has been a lifesaver on this trip. We snagged the Coconut Village boat tour for just 200 pesos (around $4 USD) – coconut included! 🥥 Bargain alert! 🚨
From the moment we arrived, we knew this wasn't your average tourist trap. The Coconut Village is surprisingly well-organized and authentic. We were greeted by the friendliest local, who became our personal boatman for the day. A quick flash of our Klook booking, and we were off – smooth sailing (literally!). 🛶

Okay, let's talk about these basket boats! 🤩 They're these round, woven boats that look like giant bowls, and they're the traditional way of getting around in the Coconut Village. SO unique! Our boatman was an absolute legend. When he found out we were Filipino, he and his buddies started shouting "Maganda!" (Beautiful!) and "Gwapo!" (Handsome!) and then broke out into a spontaneous rendition of "Awitin Mo At Isasayaw Ko" – a classic Filipino song! 🇵🇭🎶 We were cracking up and singing along – the vibes were just SO good! ✨

Of course, we had to rock the traditional Vietnamese hats to shield us from the sun. 😎 Talk about instant photo-op! The scenery was unreal – gliding through narrow waterways surrounded by lush coconut palms. It felt like we were in a movie! 🎬
Our first stop was a photoshoot! 📸 For just 100 VND (200 pesos), we got two professional-quality pics. I mean, come on! 💸

Then came the main event: the dancing boats! 💃🕺 These guys are seriously skilled, twirling and spinning their boats in the most insane ways. It was mesmerizing! And of course, we had to try it ourselves! 🤪 50 VND (100 pesos) for a spin that left us feeling nakakahilo (dizzy) for a good five minutes! 😂 Worth it! We made sure to tip our boatman extra for his hard work and incredible skills. 💪
But wait, there's MORE! Karaoke. ON. THE. RIVER! 🎤🎶 They played a popular Filipino song and encouraged us to sing along with the Vietnamese singer. It was SO random and SO much fun! We danced our hearts out and made some new friends. 👯‍♀️

Seriously, the Coconut Village is more than just a boat ride – it's a total immersion into Vietnamese culture. The people are so warm and welcoming, the scenery is stunning, and the activities are hilarious. If you're heading to Hoi An, you NEED to add this to your list! ✅
Here's why I'm obsessed:
- Unique basket boat experience 🛶
- Authentic cultural immersion 🇻🇳
- Super friendly locals 😊
- Hilarious activities (dancing boats, karaoke!) 😂
- Gorgeous scenery 🌴
- Budget-friendly! 💸
After an hour of non-stop fun, we were treated to fresh coconut juice straight from the shell. 🥥 The perfect ending to an unforgettable day!
