Day 4 - Da Nang Travel Diary: Hue We Go! A Day Trip from Da Nang

Woke up bright and early at 6 AM, ready to tackle the day! First things first: laundry. Gotta keep those travel clothes fresh, right? Then, a quick bath to prepare for whatever adventures lay ahead.
By 7:30 AM, I was on a mission: Hue! I booked a Grab to Da Nang Central Bus Station, our launchpad for the day's adventure. Honestly, I was expecting chaos, but the terminal was surprisingly organized. Color me impressed! We found a van heading to Hue and settled in, waiting for it to fill up before we hit the road.
Around 8 AM, we were off! The ride was a visual feast of the Da Nang countryside. I couldn't stop snapping photos. Seriously, the scenery here is stunning. What blew my mind were the three tunnels cutting through the mountains. One of them was a solid 10-minute ride! The countryside was just as captivating, with endless fields, serene seas, and charming little villages.

Fast forward to 11 AM, and we arrived in Hue. Time for lunch! We headed straight to Dong Ba Market, eager to dive into the local flavors. The market was a sensory explosion – the unique aromas of Vietnamese sauces and delicacies filled the air. We wandered around, hunting for the perfect meal, but here's the kicker: no rice! Apparently, Hue market is all about the noodles.
Undeterred, we set out to find a restaurant. According to the map, there was one about a kilometer away. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Hue was like a dry sauna – hot, dry, and not a breeze in sight. We walked and walked, but the restaurant remained elusive. Finally, defeated by the heat, we stumbled upon a Lotteria (a fast-food chain) and grabbed a quick lunch. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do!

After freshening up, it was time to explore Hue. My first impression? It's like a city nestled in the province. There are a few modern buildings, but the overall vibe is simple and laid-back. There weren't many tourists around, and the city definitely has a more traditional feel. It's a nice contrast to the bustling energy of Da Nang.
Overall, Hue is a captivating city with a unique charm. It's a place where you can experience the authentic side of Vietnam, away from the tourist crowds. I can't wait to explore more of what Hue has to offer!
