Day 3 - Da Nang Travel Diary: Three Blessings on the Han River Cruise

OMG, you guys will NOT believe the rollercoaster we went on just to get on this Han River cruise! After all the shenanigans to snag a spot, we finally made it to the dock. The cruise ship was like, three stories high and packed with tourists. We ended up with a table on the lower level, but honestly, who cares? We were on the 8 PM cruise, which meant one thing: DRAGON FIRE SHOW! 🔥🐉
So, we board the ship, get whisked away to our table, and BAM! A belly dancer starts doing her thing. But wait, plot twist! As soon as we sit down, the sky opens up and it starts POURING. Like, Noah's Ark level rain. But that was blessing number one: snagging that 8 PM slot, which everyone knows is the prime time for the show!

The staff started dropping these clear curtains to keep the rain out, and I was all, "Oh no, is the dragon show gonna get canceled?" But the ship was huge and felt super safe, so we chilled. Then, the food arrived! Our tickets included fruit and unlimited drinks (soda and beer, score!). We dove into this mix of plum, dragon fruit, and watermelon like we hadn't eaten in days.
About 15 minutes later, the sky started to clear. Could this be real? Maybe the Dragon Bridge show was still on! I swear, it felt like the second blessing of the night: that crazy downpour right as we got on board! 🙏 As we cruised down the Han River, we went right under the Dragon Bridge. It was seriously magical. All the boats with their crazy lights and music blasting—so cool!

As the clock ticked closer to 9 PM, our boat parked right next to the dragon's head. Prime viewing spot! We saw other tourists staking out their territory on the ship's bow, so we joined the party, phones in hand, ready to capture the moment.

Then, 9 PM hit, and the show began! 🐉🔥💦 Okay, so imagine this: The Dragon Bridge is shaped like a massive dragon, right? At 9 PM on weekends, this dragon comes ALIVE. It breathes FIRE! Huge bursts of flames shoot out of its mouth, followed by massive sprays of water. It's loud, it's intense, and it's absolutely EPIC. We were even explaining to some other passengers what to expect since they had no idea. Seriously, it was a total "pinch me" moment. And the third blessing? The rain stopping just in time for the Dragon Bridge to do its thing!

After the show, the cruise headed back to the dock, and everyone asked if they could take their leftover drinks with them. The staff was cool about it, so we grabbed our beers and headed off. We got back to port around 9:30 PM, and the area was practically deserted compared to earlier.

We grabbed a ride back to the hotel to finally get some dinner. Overall, we took a million pics and videos to remember this insane, magical night. If you're ever in Da Nang, the Han River cruise is a MUST! ✨
