I ❤️ Da Nang Vietnam 2025 - Day 5 - Ba Na Hills - French Village - 07/28/2025
Day 5 - Da Nang Vietnam Travel Diary: Bonjour Ba Na Hills - French Village!
Okay, so today was all about feeling like I was in Europe without the hefty price tag! We hit up Ba Na Hills, and let me tell you, it's a TRIP. Imagine a Vietnamese mountaintop transformed into a whimsical French village – yeah, that's Ba Na Hills.
French Village Fantasies
We arrived at the French Village around 2:30 pm, and my camera roll is screaming for mercy. Seriously, every corner is a photo op! Think cobblestone streets, charming buildings with colorful facades, and little cafes that make you want to order a croissant and people-watch all day.
Section B2 was our playground for the afternoon. We wandered through the "village," soaking in the atmosphere. Honestly, it felt a bit surreal – one minute you're in Vietnam, the next you're transported to a quaint European town.
Helios Fountain: A Golden Moment
The highlight of the French Village for me was definitely the Helios Fountain. This stunning centerpiece features a golden statue of the Greek god Helios, surrounded by cascading water and intricate sculptures. The sun was hitting it just right, making it sparkle like crazy! I could have sat there for hours just admiring it. It’s the perfect place to take a breather and soak in the beauty of Ba Na Hills.
Church of Saint Dennis: A Touch of the Sacred
Another must-see in the French Village is the Church of Saint Dennis. This beautiful church boasts classic European architecture, with its soaring spires and stained-glass windows. Even if you're not religious, it's worth a visit to appreciate the intricate details and peaceful atmosphere. I lit a candle and said a little prayer for more travel adventures!
Europe on a Budget? Yes, Please!
If you're craving a taste of Europe without emptying your bank account, Ba Na Hills is the place to be. It's a fun, quirky, and totally Instagrammable experience. Just be prepared for crowds – it's a popular spot!
Cabaret Catastrophe (Almost!)
We were bummed to realize we'd missed the cabaret show at 3 pm!
Apparently, there's another show at 7 pm, but we knew we wouldn't be able to stay that late since the cable car for day-trippers closes around 6 pm. Lesson learned: check the show schedule beforehand!
Overall, Ba Na Hills was a fantastic day trip from Da Nang. It's a bit touristy, sure, but the unique blend of Vietnamese and European culture makes it totally worth it.
